Configuring SAS Boot Devices

The Solaris multipathing I/O features allow systems running the Oracle Solaris OS to boot from a multipathed SAS device, or from a SATA device connected to a SAS controller. Only the bundled mpt driver is supported for SAS multipathing in the Oracle Solaris release.

Some SAS and SATA devices might not support multipathing but will still function as non-multipathed devices. For more information, go to the My Oracle support site.
