When using Smart View with Microsoft Office 2013 or 2016, 32-bit or 64-bit, flickering occurs with the POV toolbar and the Smart View Panel. The flickering is likely caused by changes in Excel 2013 and Excel 2016.
To reduce flickering, Oracle advises that you take the following actions:
Ensure that you have installed one of the following Microsoft updates:

To check if an update is already installed on your machine, go to Control Panel, then Programs and Features, and then “View installed updates.” In the Search box, enter the KB number for each update; for example, enter KB2863880, and then enter KB282563. If one of the updates is installed, then you do not need to install any other update. If no results are returned for either, then you must install one of the updates.
Add two DWORD values to the Windows Registry (described in the sections below).
