Assigning Revenue Classes
You assign one or more revenue classes to each element type except Draw and Margin plan element on a compensation plan.
To assign revenue classes to a compensation plan:
1. Navigate to the Plan Elements window.
You choose Compensation Plan Elements directly from the Compensation Plans menu or from the Compensation Plans window.
2. Run a query to locate the plan element you want to work with.
3. Choose Revenue Classes.
The Revenue Classes window opens.
4. Select revenue classes for this plan element from the list of values.
You can also type the name of the revenue class. You can enter as many revenue classes as you need. Defining Your Revenue Classes explains how to define revenue classes to appear in this list of values.
5. Optionally, define an achievement target for the revenue class in the Target field.
6. Optionally, define payment or quota uplifts for the revenue class in the Payment or Target field, respectively.
A payment uplift directly increases a salesperson's compensation without affecting the quota achievement, and a quota uplift (target uplift) increases a salesperson's quota credit. See Defining Sales Incentives for more information on how to use the payment and quota uplift sales incentives.
7. For each revenue class you assign, specify transaction factors to control allocation of sales credit across various types of transactions. See Distributing Compensation Across Transactions for more information on how to use transaction factors.
