Setting Up Project Manufacturing Costing

Before you can take advantage of the manufacturing costing features of Oracle Project Manufacturing, you must set up project manufacturing costing.

To use project manufacturing, your organizations's costing method must be set to Average and the CST:Average Costing Option profile option must be set to Inventory and Work in Process. The CST:Average Costing Option profile option is automatically set to Inventory and Work in Process if Release 11 is installed as a new product. If you are upgrading from Release 10 or 10SC to Release 11, you will not be able to use Project Manufacturing costing in an existing average costing organization unless you manually upgrade that organization.

Prerequisites

Note: The Average cost type and an "average rates cost type" set up as part of average costing setup are used across all cost groups. Consequently these cost types are used when inventory is valued and transactions are costed.
