For example, your system administrator creates a Fixed Assets Clerk responsibility that allows asset additions in the QuickAdditions form, but does not allow retirements. When you sign on, select the Fixed Assets Clerk responsibility, and open the Asset Workbench, the QuickAdditions button appears, but the Retirements button is hidden.
The following examples are common results that enforcing function security may produce:
Note: Some forms and menus, when excluded from a responsibility, may affect more than one window or function. For example, if you exclude the Depreciation menu, you also exclude the Run Depreciation, Depreciation Projections, and Calculate Gains and Losses windows. Similarly, if you exclude the Tax Workbench, you also exclude the Investment Tax Credits and Reserve Adjustments windows.
Note: Some buttons access more than one window or function. For example, use the 'New' button to perform a detail addition (Asset Details, Books, and Assignments windows).
