Defining WIP Accounting Classes
You can define and update WIP accounting classes. Accounting classes are assigned when jobs are defined and when repetitive assemblies are associated with production lines.
To define accounting classes in a standard costing organization:
You cannot update the class name after you save your changes.
3. Select an accounting class Type. The options are Standard Discrete, Repetitive Assembly, Asset Non-standard, and Expense Non-standard.
Production costs and variances are tracked in the valuation and variance accounts associated with these classes.
As of this date, you can no longer use this accounting class. The Inactive On date can be greater than or equal to the current date. If you do not enter an Inactive On date, the accounting class is active indefinitely.
5. In the Accounts alternative region, select the general ledger accounts each required Valuation and Variance account. See: Valuation and Variance Accounts.
