A production line describes a unique set of operations, departments, and/or manufacturing cells that produce one or more of your assemblies. You use production lines to build repetitive assemblies.
You can build different repetitive assemblies on the same production line. This means that you can use production lines to aggregate material requirements for a number of assemblies. You can also use lines to define separate area1s of your shop floor for greater management control.
