OCIStringGetEncoding()

Purpose

Gets the encoding information for a given string.

Syntax

ub4 OCIStringGetEncoding ( OCIEnv               *env,
                           CONST OCIString      *vs );

Parameters

env (IN/OUT)

The OCI environment handle initialized in object mode.

vs (IN)

Pointer to the text of the given string.

Comments

Returns:

• OCI_UNICODE - this OCIString object uses UTF-16 Unicode encoding

• OCI_NON_UNICODE - this OCIString object uses non-Unicode encoding
