This illustration of the Oracle Directory Integration platform architecture has four main sections:
Central Directory. This section contains Oracle Directory Manager and Oracle Internet Directory. Oracle Internet Directory contains the Oracle Directory Integration Platform configuration, management, and status information. A two-way arrow shows the mutual interaction between Oracle Directory Manager and Oracle Internet Directory.
Oracle Directory Integration Server. This section contains a scheduling service and a mapping service
A two-way arrow shows the mutual interaction between the Oracle Directory Integration Server and Oracle Internet Directory.
Agents. This section contains an Import/Export File, a Partner Agent such as Oracle HR Agent, and Agent Configuration Information.
A two-way arrow indicates the mutual interaction between the Import/Export File and the Partner Agent.
An arrow points from the Oracle Directory Integration Server to Agent Configuration Information, and another arrow points from Agent Configuration Information to the Partner Agent. These arrows indicate that the Oracle Directory Integration Server passes Agent Configuration Information to the Partner Agent.
This section also contains External Agents. This component, in turn, contains Third party Metadirectory Servers and Metadirectory Agents. A two-way arrow indicates the mutual interaction between the Third party Metadirectory Servers and Metadirectory Agents. A two-way arrow, which bypasses the Oracle Directory Integration Server, indicates the direct mutual interaction between the External Agents and Oracle Internet Directory.
Connected Directories. This section contains two types of connected directories:
Connected Directories such as Oracle HR. A two-way arrow indicates the mutual interaction between these connected directories and partner agents.
Connected Directories such as SAP. A two-way arrow indicates the mutual interaction between these connected directories and External Agents
