This illustration shows the Windows NT Event Viewer.
Each event is a row in a table with the following fields:
- Date - day when the event took place, this is how the list of events is sorted in this illustration
- Time - time when the event took place
- Source - application that recorded the event
- Category - classification, if any, of the event
- Event - unique number assigned to an event
- User - if applicable
- Computer - computer name where the event occurred
Each event has a color-coded icon to indicate the type (or severity) of the event.
