Oracle Advanced Queuing (AQ) provides message queuing for Oracle Workflow and Oracle9iAS InterConnect. It is integrated with the database and provides guaranteed delivery, message persistence, and transactional behavior.
AQ provides a scalable and open Java Message Service (JMS)-based infrastructure to support inter-application messaging. AQ also supports multiple modes of delivery, including:

For interoperability with non-Oracle messaging systems, such as MQ Series and TibcoTM, the AQ messaging gateway feature provides automatic propagation between AQ and third-party queues.
