This illustration shows the data synchronization that occurs between Oracle 9iAS Email 5.2 and Oracle Internet Directory. At the extreme left of the figure is the Oracle9iAS Email server itself, represented as a CPU, and the Oracle9iAS Email database, represented as a disk drive. At the extreme right is the Oracle Internet Directory server, represented as a CPU, and the Oracle Internet Directory database, represented as a disk drive. In the middle, are the forward (at the top) and backward (at the bottom) synchronization servers, represented as CPU's. Arrows run in a clockwise direction from the Oracle9iAS Email Server database, through the synchronization servers, and to the Oracle Internet Directory database. These arrows depict the flow of information--from the Oracle9iAS Email database to the Oracle Internet Directory database and back again.
