Preface

This manual describes the different options available for publishing reports with Oracle Application Server Reports Services, as well as how to configure the OracleAS Reports Services software for publishing reports.

Audience

This manual is intended for anyone who is interested in publishing reports with OracleAS Reports Services. To configure OracleAS Reports Services, it is useful to have a solid understanding of the following technologies:

• Your operating system

• Databases

• CORBA

• JSP files

• XML and DTD files

• Web server configuration

• HTTP

This manual will guide you through configuring components related to these technologies.

Conventions

The following text conventions are used in this document:

Convention	Meaning
boldface	Boldface type indicates graphical user interface elements associated with an action, or terms defined in text or the glossary.
italic	Italic type indicates book titles, emphasis, or placeholder variables for which you supply particular values.
monospace	Monospace type indicates commands within a paragraph, URLs, code in examples, text that appears on the screen, or text that you enter.
monospace italic	Monospace italic type indicates variables or user-supplied names.
[ ]	Brackets enclose optional clauses from which you can choose one or none.
