B Configuring, Unconfiguring, and Reconfiguring Oracle Content Services

You can configure, unconfigure, and reconfigure Oracle Content Services Applications tiers using the Oracle Collaboration Suite Control.

This appendix contains the following topics:

Configuring Oracle Content Services

If you did not configure Oracle Content Services during the Oracle Collaboration Suite installation, or if you want to configure Oracle Content Services on additional Applications tiers, you can use the Oracle Collaboration Suite Control to configure Oracle Content Services on a particular Applications tier. You can only configure Oracle Content Services on an Applications tier that does not already have Oracle Content Services configured.

To configure Oracle Content Services on a particular Applications tier:

  1. Connect to the Oracle Collaboration Suite Control on the Applications tier where you want to configure Oracle Content Services, and go to the Collaboration Suite Home page.

  2. Click Configure Component.

  3. On the Configure Component: Select Component page, select Oracle Content Services, then click Continue.

  4. Follow the wizard directions to go through the remaining configuration pages. For more information about a particular page, click Help.

Note that the SMTP page only appears for the first Applications tier you configure. This page does not appear when you configure Oracle Content Services on subsequent Applications tiers.

Also, on the Oracle Internet Directory page, be sure to enter an Oracle Internet Directory user with the appropriate credentials. You can use the cn=orcladmin user, or any Oracle Internet Directory user with the following privileges:

    • Owner of the IAS Admins group

    • Member of the IAS and User Mgmt Application Admins group

    • Member of the Repository Mid-tier Administrators group

  5. Return to the Collaboration Suite Home page and restart Oracle HTTP Server (HTTP_Server). You must perform this step in order to access Oracle Content Services through Web services or WebDAV.

  6. After you have completed the configuration, you must restart OC4J_OCSClient from the Collaboration Suite Home page to access Oracle Content Services from the Oracle Collaboration Suite Welcome page.

Unconfiguring Oracle Content Services

You can use the Oracle Collaboration Suite Control to unconfigure Oracle Content Services from an Applications tier. This action will remove all traces of the current Oracle Content Services configuration from that Applications tier.

You cannot unconfigure Oracle Content Services from an Applications tier that is also running Oracle Workflow.

Unconfiguring Oracle Content Services can have several consequences for your deployment, depending on your current configuration. For example:

To unconfigure Oracle Content Services on an Applications tier:

  1. Connect to the Oracle Collaboration Suite Control on the Applications tier where you want to unconfigure Oracle Content Services, and go to the Content Services Home page.

  2. On the Content Services Home page, stop any node processes that are running on this Applications tier. Local nodes display a check mark in the Local column of the Processes table.

  3. In the Administration section, click Unconfigure. This option does not appear for an Applications tier that is also running Oracle Workflow.

You cannot unconfigure Oracle Content Services unless all nodes on this Applications tier are stopped.

  4. On the Warning page, click Yes.

  5. After you have completed unconfiguration, you must restart OC4J_OCSClient from the Collaboration Suite Home page to remove the Oracle Content Services link from the Oracle Collaboration Suite Welcome page.

Reconfiguring Oracle Content Services

After Oracle Content Services is unconfigured on an Applications tier, you have the option of configuring Oracle Content Services again on that Applications tier. For example, you might want unconfigure Oracle Content Services on an Applications tier that was configured against a test schema, and then configure the Applications tier again against a production schema.

To reconfigure Oracle Content Services, unconfigure Oracle Content Services from an Applications tier, and then configure Oracle Content Services again, as described in the preceding sections.
