Verifying Connections to the Siebel File System

The Siebel File System on the server stores the newly created upgrade kits. It is important to verify settings for connections to the Siebel File System. The connection settings vary depending upon the type of client. In either case these are essential to downloading the kits.

Mobile Web Clients connect to the Siebel File System through the Siebel Server. Therefore, the Siebel File System parameter in Synchronization Manager should be set to the same location as the File System parameter in the CFG file of the user who created the kit.

Developer Web Clients connect directly to the Siebel File System. Therefore, the File System parameter in the ServerDataSrc of the client's CFG file should be set to the appropriate location. Also, the user should have read/write access to that directory. Test for this by having the user open an attachment, and if that is successful, then the connection to File System is set correctly.
