In earlier releases, Siebel Order Management functions and function calls were hard coded. In this release, every interaction between C/OM components occurs through an API invocation that you can configure or redirect. These API invocations are named signals. A signal is a request to perform a business function. Each API invocation supports a configurable set of input arguments. The API is handled by a series of business service methods and workflow processes that you define in the Administration - Order Management screen, then Signals views.
