Personalization for Apparel and Footwear
Distributing the right products through the right channels is important to an apparel or footwear manufacturer. If you have multiple channel partners operating in the same locale, such as a shopping mall, you would want them to be carrying different sets of products to avoid unnecessary price reductions that ultimately erode the brand equity of your products. Typically, an apparel and footwear manufacturer determines the product mix that an account should carry based on the market segmentation of the account.
Siebel Personalization allows apparel and footwear manufacturers to set up personalization rules that evaluating attribute values of account profiles to determine which product catalogs, product categories, and products retailers can view through the Siebel Partner Portal.
To use personalization effectively, you must:
- Set Up Account Channel and Product Differentiation Lists of Values. To specify Account Channel and Product Differentiation values for accounts, products, catalog categories, and catalogs, you choose from lists of values. These lists of values can be changed to meet your company's needs.
- Enter Product Attributes. You can select values for the Account Channel and Product Differentiation fields in product records.
- Enter Catalog Categories and Catalog Attributes. You can select values for the Account Channel and Product Differentiation fields in catalog category and catalog records.
- Enter Account Attributes. You can enter values for the Account Channel and Product Differentiation fields for every account, as described in the section that follows.
