Simulating a Communications Environment


This topic describes how to use the Communications Simulator to simulate the basic capabilities for handling work items of different channel types.

The Communications Simulator can help you to understand how Siebel Communications Server works. It allows you, for example, to experiment with event responses such as those that generate screen pops or populate the customer dashboard.

The Communications Simulator simulates:

  • Inbound calls
  • Inbound call (received from a predictive dialer)
  • Inbound email

Any changes to communications profiles, configuration parameters, agents, telesets, commands, or events that you make as part of using the Communications Simulator must be made using the applicable communications configuration.

NOTE:  The Communications Simulator can simulate CTI voice call-handling only for communications configurations using profiles for the communications driver provided by Oracle to support Envox middleware.
