About Drop-Down Lists

A drop-down list allows you to click a down arrow button to the right of a field to select from a list of available values. Figure 27 shows an example of a drop-down list. You can also type the value or the starting letters of the value you are looking for in the drop-down field to automatically select it. After typing the value or starting letters of the value, tab or click off the field. The appropriate value appears in the field unless more than one value match the starting letters you entered. In this case, the drop-down list opens and you must select the appropriate value.
