Adding Packages to a Property

To add package records to a selected property, follow this procedure.

This task is a step in Process of Setting Up Menus and Packages.

To add a property-specific package

  1. Navigate to the Property Administration screen, then the Properties view.
  2. Identify the property to which you want to add a package and drill down on the property's Name field.
  3. Click the Packages view tab.
  4. In the Packages list, add a new record and complete the necessary fields. Some fields are described in the table that follows.

Type of package. Determines the pricing method.

    • Package Each. Fixed price for a quantity of 1 of the package, regardless of the number of people.
    • Package Item Price. Variable price for each person where individual item prices are broken out.
    • Package Per Person. Fixed price for each person where individual item prices are not broken out.

Identifies related groups of packages. Allows users to do searches for packages classified by these related groups. For example, Audio Visual Package could be a grouping, and this would help users to find all the audio-visual packages that are accessible in a property.

Default value changes dynamically according to the selection in the Type field. Defaults to Person if Type = Package Per Person, Each if Type = Package Each, and Each if Type = Package Item Price.

If selected, end users cannot add or delete package items, or change the quantities of package items, in the Quote, Order, or Event Check views. Administrators, however, can add or delete package items and change the quantities of package items in the Administration views.

    Start Date

First day when the package is available. Defaults to the current date.

    End Date

Last day when the package is available.

    Use System Allocation

If selected, Siebel Hospitality calculates a per person allocation for the package's child package items, while associating a package into function line items.

This field is read-only under the following conditions:

    • The package is, or contains a child package that is, of Type = Package Item Price.
    • The package contains a Split Menu.
  5. (Optional) Click Check Description Spelling to check the spelling in the Description field.
