Connecting to the MobileSys Network

Connecting to the MobileSys Network simplifies the deployment of Siebel Wireless Messaging. The MobileSys Network provides a single connection point to many messaging networks around the world, thus reducing or eliminating the need for direct network operator connections.

NOTE:  Siebel Wireless Messaging customers must agree directly with MobileSys to connect to the MobileSys Network. Siebel Systems does not provide or resell MobileSys Network connections.

  • For one-way wireless messaging, MobileSys MX is required for connecting to the MobileSys Network. When your company has reached an agreement with MobileSys to connect to the MobileSys Network for one-way messaging, MobileSys will send you an XML configuration update for the MobileSys MX Server.

The configuration update includes all service node information required to begin sending messages to supported network operators through the MobileSys Network. This data must be specified using parameters for the Wireless Messaging 1-Way communications driver.

The update also includes a license for MobileSys MX (in addition to that provided through Siebel Wireless Messaging). You will use MobileSys MX to send messages through the MobileSys Network.

  • For two-way wireless messaging, MobileSys MX is not used for connecting to the MobileSys Network. When your company has reached an agreement with MobileSys to connect to the MobileSys Network for two-way messaging, MobileSys will send you MX Client ID, MX Client Password, MX Gateway, and MX Reference data. This data must be specified using parameters for the Wireless Messaging 2-Way communications driver.

When using the MobileSys Network, you must create communications driver profiles that reference the wireless network operators required to reach all intended message recipients. For information on how to establish these profiles, see Configuring Communications Drivers and Profiles.
