Preparing the Siebel Handheld Application for Barcode Scanning

If you are going to scan barcodes when performing a cycle count, you need to associate the scan trigger with a button on the handheld device.

This assumes that you have already installed the drivers for the scanner you are using with your handheld device. For latest information on supported scanners, please refer to System Requirements and Supported Platforms on Siebel SupportWeb.

To associate the scan trigger with a button on the handheld device

1. Select Start > Settings.

   The Personal Settings tab appears.

2. Tap the Buttons Icon.

   A table listing the assigned programs is displayed. For example, Button 1 is assigned to Calendar, and so on.

3. Select the button to which you want to associate the trigger. For example, Button 1.
4. Tap the Button assignment drop-down list.
5. Select SocketTrigger from list of programs.

   NOTE:  You cannot use Button 5 (assigned to Record) as the device button to trigger the scan.
