Check Document Status Setting

This setting specifies if the timestamps of your external documents are checked against FT_MTIME before the data is retrieved. This statement can be used to improve retrieval performance for tables on CD-ROM or tables that are specified as read-only. This statement has an effect only on the external document timestamp checking and not on timestamp checking of other columns.

The default value of this setting is TRUE, meaning timestamps are checked on external documents. Setting this value to FALSE turns off the timestamp check.

NOTE:  Since index creation in UNIX platforms needs to be done in a separate process from the Siebel Server, the setting is set to FALSE in UNIX platforms by default. You cannot overwrite this setting.

Example

Property: Check Document Status

Value: TRUE

To create the Check Document Status setting

  1. Navigate to Search Administration > Basic Settings.
  2. From the Settings Properties menu, select New Record.
  3. A new row appears in the Setting Properties list.

  4. Click in the Name column of the new row, and from the drop-down list, select Check Document Status.
  5. Click in the Value column of the new row, and from the drop-down list, select TRUE to enable timestamp checking of external documents, or select FALSE to disable the function, and then click Save.
