Displaying Providers

A provider or contracted provider is a doctor who contracts with a health plan to provide care to its members. A provider can be designated as a primary care provider (PCP) for one or more products offered by the health plan. Typically, a member receives regular health maintenance from their primary provider and consults their primary provider before seeing specialists for a health problem.

Members can perform the following tasks:

Only providers in the database that are listed as contracted providers for a member's health product are included in the list of providers or in the provider search list for that product.

For information about managing providers, see Siebel eHealthcare Guide.

NOTE:  There are two screens through which you can search for providers. By clicking Locate Nearby Providers on the Home Page screen, you can search for providers, but you can not choose them as your primary care physician. You must follow the enrollment process to choose a provider as your primary care physician.
