Introduction


This guide is for people who are responsible for integrating Siebel applications with external applications or administering Web Services or Application Services Interfaces.

Although job titles and duties at your company may differ from those listed in the following table, the audience for this guide consists primarily of employees in these categories:

Business Analysts

Persons responsible for analyzing application integration challenges and planning integration solutions at an enterprise.

Database Administrators

Persons who administer the database system, including data loading, system monitoring, backup and recovery, space allocation and sizing, and user account management.

Siebel Application Administrators

Persons responsible for planning, setting up, and maintaining Siebel applications.

Siebel Application Developers

Persons who plan, implement, and configure Siebel applications, possibly adding new functionality.

Siebel Integration Developers

Persons responsible for analyzing a business situation or using the analysis of a business analyst to build the integration solution at an enterprise for Siebel applications.

Siebel System Administrators

Persons responsible for the whole system, including installing, maintaining, and upgrading Siebel applications.

System Integrators

Persons responsible for analyzing a business situation or using the analysis of a business analyst to build the integration solution at an enterprise for specific applications and or to develop custom solutions.

The audience for this book also needs to have experience in data integration, data transformation (data mapping), scripting or programming, and XML.
