Costs
Query caching incurs the following costs:
- Disk space for the cache
- Administrative costs of managing the cache
- Potential for cached results being stale
- Minor CPU and disk I/O on server machine
With proper cache management, the benefits will far outweigh the costs. Using cache, the cost of database processing need only be paid once for a query, not every time the query is run.
