Driver Issues for Version 7.5

Communications drivers from version 7.0.x of the Siebel eBusiness Applications will not work as is with version 7.5.x, unless you follow the guidelines in this section. Version 7.5.x requires version 2 of the Siebel Adaptive Communications API.

Requirements are different for each supported platform:

All existing driver vendors must compile the driver using the current version of the API. The version 7.0.x communications driver cannot work with version 7.5.x of the Siebel eBusiness Applications, due to version checking.
For a communications driver for Microsoft Windows platforms, it is not necessary to change the code. It is necessary only to recompile.
For a communications driver for IBM AIX platforms, it is not necessary to change the code. It is necessary only to recompile.
For a communications driver for Sun Solaris platforms, it is necessary to make changes to the driver code and to recompile. Version 7.0.x used UCS4 for Solaris, but version 7.5 uses UTF16 (to support Unicode). This change requires that the driver code be modified.
