Using the New Communication Command to Create a Request

Using the New Communication command displays the My Outbound Request Overview view (in the Communications screen) with a newly created request record.

A recipient source record is created, based on the current record in the original view. For example, an account record is specified, if you chose the command with a selected record from an Accounts view. The recipient group for the request is also based on the current record in the original view.

For example, if you chose the command while displaying an Accounts view, the current account is the recipient source, and the account contacts are the recipients. If more than one recipient group is based on the same business object (recipient source), the first matching recipient group is used.

If no recipient groups are defined for the current business object, then the New Communication command is not available.

After you choose the command, finish specifying the outbound communication request, as described in Creating and Submitting Outbound Requests.
