Installing and Configuring Siebel Wireless Messaging

This section describes how to install and configure Siebel Wireless Messaging. Siebel Wireless Messaging can connect directly to network operators or connect to the MobileSys Network in order to send and receive messages.

As shown in Table 69, using the MobileSys Network is optional for one-way messaging, and required for two-way messaging.

For one-way wireless messaging with Siebel Wireless Messaging, you use the MobileSys MX wireless messaging engine, which is included with Siebel Wireless Messaging. Depending on the services available from particular wireless network operators, you may be able to connect directly, through MobileSys MX, to the individual network operators that service the wireless devices of the message recipients. Or, you can connect to the MobileSys Network through MobileSys MX.

Table 69 shows connection options for Siebel Wireless Messaging. Steps required to install and configure Siebel Wireless Messaging and MobileSys MX vary depending on whether wireless messages will be sent directly to wireless network operators or through the MobileSys Network. Determine which method you will use before proceeding with your installation.
