Setting Up Field Service Activity Templates


Follow these procedures to set up activities.

To define activity templates

  1. Navigate to Site Map > Application Administration > Activity Templates.
  2. Create an activity template record.
  3. Enter values for the required fields.

To associate activities with activity templates

  1. Navigate to Site Map > Application Administration > Activity Templates.
  2. Select an activity template.
  3. Click the Activity Template Details view tab or the Service Details view tab.
  4. Create an activity record.
  5. Enter values for the required fields.

NOTE:  You can associate activities with an activity template in either the Activity Template Details or the Service Details view.

To associate steps, skills, parts and tools, and instructions with an activity

  1. Navigate to Site Map > Application Administration > Activity Templates.
  2. Select an activity template.
  3. Click the Service Details view tab.
  4. Select an activity record.
  5. Click the Service Activity Steps tab.
    1. Add a new record for each step.
    2. In the Sequence field, specify the sequence of steps.
  6. Click the Assignment Skills tab.
    1. Add a new record for each skill.
    2. In the Service Activity Skill Item list, specify the type of skill and level of expertise.
    3. The fields in this view depend on the content selected for the Item field in the Assignment Skills view.

  7. Click the Service Activity Items tab.
    1. Add a new record for each part or tool.
    2. Specify the quantity of each part or tool.
  8. Click the Service Activity Instructions tab and add a new record for each instruction.
