Creating Inventory Transactions


Follow these procedures to process inventory transactions.

To create inventory transactions manually

  1. Navigate to View > Site Map > Inventory Transactions.
  2. Create an inventory transaction record.
  3. In the Type field, select a transaction type.
  4. Enter values for all required fields.

To add an asset to an inventory transaction

  1. Navigate to the Inventory Transactions screen.
  2. Select the inventory transaction for a serialized product with which you want to associate an asset.
  3. Click the Assets view tab.
  4. Add an asset record.
  5. Available assets vary dynamically according to the Source Location in the inventory transaction record. The assets available to select are only those at that Source Location. If the Source Location is External Location, Field Service shows all assets not currently assigned to any location.

To receive a product as a stock transfer or over-the-counter transaction

  1. Navigate to View > Site Map > Inventory Transactions.
  2. Add an inventory transaction record.
    1. In the Type field, select Stock Transfer or Over-the-counter.
    2. Enter values for all required fields.
    3. If the product for this inventory transaction is serialized, the Serialized check box is selected.

  3. If the product is serialized, click the Assets tab and add a new asset record for the transaction.
    1. In the Asset # field, select an asset.
    2. In the Inventory Transaction form, select the Commit check box.

To move an item from one trunk to another: source mobile client

  1. Navigate to View > Site Map > Inventory Transactions.
  2. Add an inventory transaction record.
  3. In the Type field, select Exchange Between FSEs.
  4. Enter values for all required fields.
  5. Select the Commit check box.

To move an item from one trunk to another: destination mobile client

  1. Navigate to the Activities screen.
  2. Select an activity.
  3. Click the Part Tracker view tab.
  4. Create a part movement record.
  5. In the Product field, select a product.
  6. Enter a value in the Write-in Serial # field.
  7. Select the Commit check box.

To commit transactions reported by mobile clients

  1. Navigate to Site Map > Service Administration > Parts Movement Administration.
  2. Click the show more button in the More Info tab.
  3. Select an uncommitted part movement record.
  4. An uncommitted part movement record shows a cleared Commit check box in the More Info form.

  5. In the Asset # field, select an asset.
  6. The asset should correspond to the write-in serial number entered by the mobile field service engineer.

  7. Select the Commit check box.
  8. This action generates an inventory transaction that decrements the source inventory location and increments the destination location.
