Reviewing Plans Associated with an Employee (Manager)


A manager can review the compensation plans associated with an employee using the Plans view.

To review plans associated with an employee

  1. From the application-level menu, choose View > Site Map > Incentive Compensation > My Team's Compensation.
  2. In the Participants list, select the employee whose plans you want to review, and then click the Plans view tab.
  3. In the Plans list, select the plan you want to review, and drill down on the hyperlink in the Name field.
  4. The Personal Plan form appears, as shown in the following figure. The views associated with the view tabs provide additional details on the selected plan.

  5. Click the Plan Attachments view tab to see a list of attachments (such as reports) associated with the plan.
  6. Click the Plan Caps view tab to review caps associated with the plan.
  7. The following table describes the read-only fields in the Plan Caps subview.

    Field
    Comments
    Amount
    If cap is based on amount, the amount of the cap.
    End
    The end date of the plan cap.
    Frequency
    Frequency with which the cap is applied (for example, monthly).
    Name
    The name of the plan cap.
    %
    The cap percentage. For attainment caps, this represents the percentage of attainment that is the maximum attainment. For payment caps, this represents the percentage of the Target Incentive that will be the maximum payment.
    Performance Measure
    For attainment caps, this represents the performance measure that will be capped. For payment caps, this field is empty.
    Qty
    If the cap is based on quantity, the number of the cap.
    Refundable
    If this check box is selected, the cap is refundable.
    Start
    The start date of the plan cap.
    Type
    The type of cap.
    Unit of Measure
    The unit of measure, either Amount or Quantity.

  8. Click the Plan Draws view tab to review draws associated with the plan.
  9. The following table describes the read-only Plan Draw fields.

    Field
    Comments
    Amount
    The amount of the draw.
    End
    The end date of the plan draw.
    Frequency
    Frequency with which the draw is applied (for example, monthly).
    Name
    The name of the plan draw.
    Start
    The start date of the plan draw.
    Type
    The type of draw, either recoverable or not recoverable.

  10. Click the Plan Hurdles view tab to review any hurdles associated with the plan.
  11. The following table describes the read-only Plan Hurdles fields.

    Field
    Comments
    End
    The end date of the plan hurdle.
    Filters
    Any filters associated with the hurdle.
    Name
    The name of the plan hurdle.
    Performance Measure
    The measurement type (for example, customer satisfaction).
    Start
    The start date of the plan hurdle.
    Type
    The type of hurdle (for example, Bonus-Other Results).

    1. In the Plan Hurdles list, select a hurdle, and drill down on the hyperlink in the Name field to view the hurdle definition.
    2. In the Plan Hurdles Definition form, review the fields.
    3. The following table describes the fields.

      Field
      Comments
      Comparison
      The ratio used for comparison (for example, <, <=, =, =>, and >).
      Value
      The value that must be met.
      End
      The end date of the plan hurdle period.
      Performance Measure
      The hurdle measurement type (for example, customer satisfaction).
      Period
      The hurdle definition period.
      Start
      The start date of the plan hurdle period.

  12. Select the Plan Quotas view tab to review the quotas associated with the plan and the Quota Periods for the quota.
  13. A quota can be spread over the plan period and may be skewed to reflect traditionally high volume or slow times of the year. The Quota Periods show the quota spread.

    The following table describes the read-only Plan Quotas fields.

    End
    The end date of the plan quota.
    Name
    The name of the plan quota.
    Performance Measure
    The measurement type (for example, revenue).
    Prorate
    The quota prorate factor that can be applied for a plan participant. The calculation engine uses this factor to prorate the quota.
    Sales Hierarchy
    The name of the sales hierarchy with which the plan quota is associated, if any.
    Start
    The start date of the plan quota.
    Status
    The status of the Plan Quota, either Accepted or Rejected by the participant.
    Target Amount
    The amount of the quota, if applicable.
    Target Qty
    The quantity of the quota, if applicable.
    Territory
    If the quota is associated with a territory, the name of the territory.

    The following table describes the read-only Quota Periods fields.

    End
    The end date of each quota period.
    Name
    The name of each quota period, usually descriptive of the measurement period (for example, Jan. 2003).
    Percent
    The percentage of the quota applied to the quota period.
    Start
    The start date of the quota period.
    Period Amount
    If the quota target is measured in Amount, the amount of the quota applied to this period.
    Period Qty
    If the Quota Target is measured in Quantity, the number of the quota quantity applied to this period.

  14. Click the Plan Rules view tab to review the plan rules associated with the plan.
  15. The following table describes the read-only Plan Rules fields.

    Field
    Comments
    End
    The end date of the plan rule.
    Description
    A description of the plan rule.
    Filters
    Filters associated with the plan rule.
    Name
    The name of the plan rule.
    % of Payout Factor
    The results of the plan rule are multiplied by the % of Payout Factor to determine the final gross earnings for the rule.
    Start
    The start date of the plan rule.
    Target Incentive
    The target incentive amount of the plan rule.
    Target Incentive Script
    Name of the Target Incentive script that calculates the target incentives, if applicable.
