Introduction


This guide is intended for Siebel Marketing and Siebel Campaigns administrators, managers, and end users with different levels of expertise in customer relationship and database management. Depending on your implementation strategy, administrator duties may be assumed by end users who have advanced expertise in this area.

Although job titles and duties at your company may differ, this book will be useful primarily to people whose title or job description matches one of the following:

Database Administrators

Persons who administer the database system, including data loading, system monitoring, backup and recovery, space allocation and sizing, and user account management.

Marketing and Campaigns Administrators

Persons responsible for setting up and maintaining access to marketing data. Duties include managing databases of customer information, mapping to tables and fields, designing metrics for use in segmentation and filters, creating hierarchies of data, and so on.

Analytics Administrators

Persons responsible for creating and maintaining Siebel Analytics repositories and administering the Siebel Analytics Server environment.

Marketing and Campaigns Managers

Persons responsible for setting up and maintaining a marketing department. Duties include designing and managing campaigns, product marketing information, and product distribution lists.

Siebel Application Administrators

Persons responsible for planning, setting up, and maintaining Siebel applications.

Siebel Application Developers

Persons who plan, implement, and configure Siebel applications.

Siebel Marketing and Campaigns End Users

Persons responsible for implementing campaign strategy by generating snapshots and lists and launching campaigns.
