Creating CHAMP Metrics

You should create CHAMP metrics before you create any CHAMP plans.

CHAMP metrics will let you categorize CHAMP objectives in ways that will let you measure them. For example, if you are going to develop a series of CHAMP plans with different partners to increase sales of a product, you could create a metric named Sales Revenue. Then, when you evaluate partner performance, you can search on the metric field to list the objectives with Sales Revenue as the metric, so you can compare the target and actual performance of your partners.

In CHAMP planning, performance is measured using the Target and Actual value fields of each objective. The metric defines and categorizes objectives, so you can measure and compare the performance of different partners.

NOTE:  You should create all the appropriate metrics before creating any CHAMP plans. Analyze your CHAMP planning program and decide how you want to use metrics to measure and categorize objectives. When you create a specific CHAMP plan, the metrics that you have created will be available in the picklist of the Metrics field of the plan's objectives.
