Setting Up Advanced Search

Siebel PRM can search for data in two ways:

Search. Lets users search for data in a specific field of a specific business object.
Advanced Search. Lets users do full text searches of multiple fields in multiple data sources.

Advanced Search uses the Fulcrum SearchServer engine to scan database tables and documents in the Siebel file system.

To implement Siebel Advanced Search, you must complete the following tasks:

Install Fulcrum SearchServer.
Set up a separate directory for the search indexes for Siebel eSearch.
Set up separate ODBC drivers for Siebel eSearch.
Create and index the search tables.
