Synchronizing Repositories


Use the Administration Tool's Repository Import Wizard to synchronize differences between repositories. This allows you to update and synchronize an open repository's catalogs, users, groups, and variables with those of another repository. When you import objects from one repository into another, the repository from which you are importing must be consistent.

NOTE:  This option is not available for repositories that are opened in read-only mode, because they are not available for synchronization or updating.

To synchronize and update a repository

  1. In the Administration Tool, select File > Import from Repository.
  2. In the Repository Import Wizard, select the repository type you want to update from, and then click Next.
  3. The listed repositories belong to one of the following categories:

  4. Perform one of the following tasks:
  5. From the drop-down list at the top of the Repository Import Wizard—Objects to Update dialog box, select the category of objects you want to update.
  6. Objects appear in the left pane of the dialog box. Depending on the category of objects you selected, different buttons allow you to specify how you want to add objects.

  7. Do one of the following:
  8. Click Next to continue.
  9. The Finish screen displays the repository objects that will be updated and synchronized.

  10. Click Finish to complete the update and synchronization process.
  11. The Repository Import Wizard closes automatically. If the Administration Tool is open in online mode, you will be prompted to check in the changes before closing the repository.
