Manually Closing an Auction

By default, all items automatically end at a specified time. As an auction lister, you can manually close one of your auctions at any time. When you close an auction, the auction ends and no more bids are accepted.

An auction will appear on the Closed Auctions tab if you have manually closed it. It will also appear on the Closed tab if its End Date has passed. As a lister, you cannot edit an auction that has been closed unless you repost the closed auction.

To manually close an auction

  1. From the Auctions screen, click Update Auctions.
  2. The Open Auctions screen appears.

  3. Click the Closed Auctions tab or the Open Auctions tab.
  4. NOTE:  An auction may appear on the Closed Auctions tab if its End Date has passed, but it will need to be manually closed if AutoClose is turned off.

  5. Click the Update icon for the auction you want to close.
  6. The Auction Item Detail screen appears.

  7. Click Close.
  8. The Close Auction Confirmation screen appears.

  9. Click Yes to close the auction.
