Authentication for Siebel eService

The user management and authentication processes control access by both anonymous users and registered users.

A Siebel administrator or customer care representative can:

A Web Delegated Customer Administrator is a designated administrator at a customer company in a business-to-business scenario. This administrator has been assigned a Siebel responsibility that makes it possible to add or modify users for the account. This Siebel responsibility gives them access to the Siebel User Administration view.

User IDs and passwords are typically stored in an external authentication system such as the Netscape Directory Server. The Siebel security adapter interface and the appropriate [LDAP] parameter settings in the eservice.cfg file support the integration between Siebel eService and an external authentication system. With this support, registered users will be authenticated by your authentication system and then authorized to access the Siebel eService application.

For more information on user management and authentication support, see Security Guide for Siebel eBusiness Applications.
