Before you begin
Review Configure and manage Agents and Configure the resource pool for an Agent.
The General tab on the Resource Pools page enables you to configure IP addresses and network interfaces for communicating with the resource pool on which you can deploy the WLOC services. You configure the general properties of the resource pool initially when you create an Agent using the WLOC Configuration Wizard, as described in Configuring the Controller and Agents.
To configure the general properties of the resource pool for a plain Agent:

Note: WLOC resolves the configured IP addresses and network interfaces in the following manner:
If both IP addresses and network interfaces are specified, WLOC validates the specified IP addresses against the configured network interfaces. A validation failure results in a configuration error.
If IP addresses are specified but network interfaces are not, WLOC validates the specified IP addresses on any of the network interfaces bound on the machine on which the Agent is running. A validation failure results in a configuration error.
If network interfaces are specified but IP addresses are not, WLOC makes available all of the IP addresses in each of the configured network interfaces.
If neither IP addresses nor network interfaces are specified, WLOC makes available all of the IP addresses in all of the network interfaces bound on the machine on which the Agent is running.
