B Meeting Package, Kernel Parameter, and Library Requirements

This appendix describes the packages and libraries required on different operating systems (32-bit as well as 64-bit) for installing a new Enterprise Manager system, an additional Oracle Management Service (OMS), and a standalone Oracle Management Agent (Management Agent).

Kernel Parameter Requirements for Oracle Management Service and Oracle Management Agent

If you are installing a new Enterprise Manager system, an additional OMS, or a standalone Management Agent on any Linux operating sytem (Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4 or 5, Oracle Linux 4 or 5, Asianux Linux 3, and SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 10), then set the kernel.shmmax parameter to a value that is not greater than 4 GB. This parameter is present in the /etc/sysctl.conf file.
