3 Starting and Shutting Down Oracle Business Transaction Management

Starting the WebSphere server automatically starts Business Transaction Management.

After starting Business Transaction Management, you access its facilities and administer it using a web-based interface called the Business Transaction Management Console.

3.1 Logging in to the Business Transaction Management Console

Open a URL of the following form in a web browser:

http://host_name:port/apasc

Note that if you are using Firefox, a log-in page is displayed. Log in using the appropriate credentials, as described in Section 2.3, "Mapping Users to Business Transaction Management Application Roles". If you are using Internet Explorer, you must be logged into Windows with the appropriate credentials.

3.2 Logging out of the Business Transaction Management Console

To log out of the Business Transaction Management Management Console, click the Logout link in the upper-right corner of the page.

3.3 Shutting down Business Transaction Management

You can shut down (and restart) Business Transaction Management using the WebSphere Administrative Console.

You can access Business Transaction Management documentation by clicking the Help button in the Business Transaction Management Console. The documentation is presented in an online help format. The documentation set includes several tutorials as well as context-sensitive help topics.
