Step 3: Creating and Storing the Disconnected Repository


To build a disconnected repository (the repository for the disconnected machine) you use the repository on the Oracle BI Server as a starting point. However, because every disconnected application has a unique set of requirements, this section explains the specific repository changes that are necessary for all disconnected repositories. For more information about creating repositories, see the chapter about setting up repositories in Oracle Business Intelligence Server Administration Guide.

NOTE:  It is recommended that you do not make the disconnected repository complicated or large (more than 20 MB). This can affect the performance of the client environment.

For development purposes, the disconnected repository should be set up and tested on a laptop that mirrors the disconnected user's environment as closely as possible.
