Process of Upgrading Non-English Seed Data for Siebel Analytics

If your organization requires that Siebel Analytics data be viewed in a language other than English, you must also import Locale seed data into the Siebel transactional (OLTP) database. This data allows the Siebel Analytics applications metadata to be viewed in non-English languages.

NOTE:  This procedure is only applicable to Siebel Analytics applications customers.

Because this data is normally part of the Siebel eBusiness Applications suite, you would have loaded part of this data when you installed the Siebel 7.5.x eBusiness application. This additional process updates the seed data and makes it current for the Siebel Analytics 7.7 applications. This process must be performed once for each language in which your data is to be viewed.

During the Siebel Analytics 7.7 installation, a folder, $INSTALLDIR\SeedData, was created, which contains a folder for each language. Within each language folder is a .dat file (the data to be imported) and an .inp file (the WHERE clause governing the import).

NOTE:  The procedure given in Importing Locale Seed Data Into the Siebel Transactional Databaseis shown again in Integrating Siebel Analytics with Siebel Operational Applications. However, if the primary language being used is not English, you may have to import additional translations (depending on the number of languages you use) as shown in the following procedure.
