Installing Siebel Analytics on Separate Machines Under Windows

Use these procedures to install Siebel Analytics Web Server and Siebel Analytics Server on separate machines. Some steps that are done automatically when installing on a single machine, such as creating a DSN, must be done manually here.

Installing Siebel Analytics on a Windows Web Server Machine

This task is part of the the process of installing Siebel Analytics Web Server and Siebel Analytics Server on separate machines.

To install Siebel Analytics on the Web Server machine

1. When running Siebel Analytics installer, select the Siebel Analytics Web Server installation option.

   This will install the Siebel Analytics Web Server, Siebel Analytics Catalog Manager, and ODBC driver files.

2. Create a system DSN called Analytics Web.

   The Analytics Web DSN accesses the repository using a single Siebel Analytics Server data source name.

3. Configure the Analytics Web DSN to point to the second machine where the Siebel Analytics Server is installed.
4. Make sure that the current Web Catalog file and any custom XML files are in the Catalog directory on the Web machine.
5. Install the Corda Popchart server on the Web machine.
6. Make sure that the Siebel Analytics Web service is running.

Installing Siebel Analytics on a Windows Siebel Analytics Server Machine

This task continues the process of installing Siebel Analytics Web Server and Siebel Analytics Server on separate machines, begun in Installing Siebel Analytics on a Windows Web Server Machine.

To install Siebel Analytics on the Siebel Analytics Server machine

1. When running Siebel Analytics installer, select the Siebel Analytics Server installation option.

   NOTE:  It is also possible to choose the Complete installation and not make use of the Web components on this machine.

2. Make sure that the correct Repository file and the data sources to connect to the physical DBMS are on the Siebel Analytics Server machine.
3. Make sure that the Siebel Analytics Server service is running.
