Oracle Retail Item Planning (IP) is part of an overall planning process that involves planning at multiple levels of the product hierarchy. The planning process is an ongoing process whereby the manner in which each step is completed affects the following step, and prior performance influences plans for future performance. Planning takes input from multiple parties, and good communication enhances the process so that it can help drive a financial roadmap for success. Multiple versions of the plan are created to benchmark success as well as provide insight to opportunities and risk for the in-season period.

Note Because IP uses the Oracle Retail Predictive Application Server (RPAS) platform, Oracle Retail recommends that you review the Oracle Retail Predictive Application Server Release Notes for fixed and known issues that may affect IP. In addition, RPAS 13.3 and later releases have significant technical enhancements related to hierarchy management (such as integer indexing) that have an effect on the configuration and maintenance of IP. You must upgrade to key RPAS versions and complete the upgrade process as described in the chapter, "Patch Installation," in the Oracle Retail Item Planning Installation Guide before upgrading to a 14.1.1 IP domain. |
Overview of the Fashion Planning Bundle
The Fashion Planning Bundle is the integration of Item Planning (IP), Item Planning configured for Clearance Optimization Engine (IP-COE), Assortment Planning (AP), Merchandise Financial Planning (MFP), and Size Profile Optimization (SPO) as a full-suite planning solution for fashion retailers.

Upgrade Note
While not directly related to Item Planning, the release 13.3 of Oracle Retail Predictive Application Server (RPAS) has undergone a major change to simplify hierarchy administration. Full details of these changes are outlined in the 13.3 Oracle Retail Predictive Application Server Release Notes. Due to these changes, configuration updates have been made to Item Planning, and you will need to perform additional steps to upgrade your Item Planning domain, such as setting dimension sizes. The upgrade to RPAS 13.3 or later for this application includes a conversion process in addition to the normal upgrade process. Details are provided in the chapter, "Patch Installation," in the Oracle Retail Item Planning Installation Guide.

The list of measures MFP_IP_transferList.txt, used by loadactuals.ksh to load MFP exported data, specified the load file name of bucpgmv and buopgmv for measures bucpprofitv and buopprofitv, respectively, but the configuration had file names of bucpgmpv and buopgmpv. This caused measures to not load with the log message of "File for bucpprofitv does not exist or is empty. Skipping load." (Also, similar behavior for buopprofitv). The configuration is corrected to use correct file names of bucpgmv and buopgmv. |

Value-Added Reseller (VAR) Language
Oracle Retail VAR Applications
The following restrictions and provisions only apply to the programs referred to in this section and licensed to you. You acknowledge that the programs may contain third party software (VAR applications) licensed to Oracle. Depending upon your product and its version number, the VAR applications may include:
(i) the MicroStrategy Components developed and licensed by MicroStrategy Services Corporation (MicroStrategy) of McLean, Virginia to Oracle and imbedded in the MicroStrategy for Oracle Retail Data Warehouse and MicroStrategy for Oracle Retail Planning & Optimization applications.
(ii) the Wavelink component developed and licensed by Wavelink Corporation (Wavelink) of Kirkland, Washington, to Oracle and imbedded in Oracle Retail Mobile Store Inventory Management.
(iii) the software component known as Access Via™ licensed by Access Via of Seattle, Washington, and imbedded in Oracle Retail Signs and Oracle Retail Labels and Tags.
(iv) the software component known as Adobe Flex™ licensed by Adobe Systems Incorporated of San Jose, California, and imbedded in Oracle Retail Promotion Planning & Optimization application.
You acknowledge and confirm that Oracle grants you use of only the object code of the VAR Applications. Oracle will not deliver source code to the VAR Applications to you. Notwithstanding any other term or condition of the agreement and this ordering document, you shall not cause or permit alteration of any VAR Applications. For purposes of this section, "alteration" refers to all alterations, translations, upgrades, enhancements, customizations or modifications of all or any portion of the VAR Applications including all reconfigurations, reassembly or reverse assembly, re-engineering or reverse engineering and recompilations or reverse compilations of the VAR Applications or any derivatives of the VAR Applications. You acknowledge that it shall be a breach of the agreement to utilize the relationship, and/or confidential information of the VAR Applications for purposes of competitive discovery.
The VAR Applications contain trade secrets of Oracle and Oracle's licensors and Customer shall not attempt, cause, or permit the alteration, decompilation, reverse engineering, disassembly or other reduction of the VAR Applications to a human perceivable form. Oracle reserves the right to replace, with functional equivalent software, any of the VAR Applications in future releases of the applicable program.
