Handling Duplicate Data During the Upload
The only types of data where updates are allowed are target customer by user data (user-to-customer account mappings). When duplicate records exist in the input data for these mappings during the data upload to Oracle Sales Prospector, the data is interpreted as updates to the existing information. At the end of the data upload, Oracle Sales Prospector provides summary information on the number of duplicate records, organized by the target table.
For other types of data, updates are not allowed. Consequently, the duplicate records do not affect the existing data, and Oracle Sales Prospector alerts you to the number of duplicate records that it bypasses, along with the record IDs that identify the duplicate records. If you want to update the data, you must delete the existing data, and reimport the data.
