Enable or disable instrumentation in a diagnostic system module

Before you begin

To enable or disable instrumentation in a diagnostic system module:

  1. If you have not already done so, in the Change Center of the Administration Console, click Lock & Edit (see Use the Change Center).
  2. In the left pane, expand Diagnostics and select Diagnostic Modules.
  3. On the Summary of Diagnostic Modules page, click the name of the module in which you want to enable or disable instrumentation.
  4. On the Settings for [Module Name] page, select Configuration > Instrumentation.
  5. To enable or disable instrumentation in the current diagnostic system module, select or deselect Enable.

When you enable instrumentation, you enable all configured diagnostic monitors in the diagnostic module. When you disable instrumentation, you disable all configured diagnostic monitors in the diagnostic module.

Note: Diagnostic monitors can also be individually enabled and disabled. However, Enable for the diagnostic module must be selected, as described in this step, for any individually enabled monitor to be active. If Enable for the module is deselected, all monitors are disabled, no matter what their individual settings are.

  6. Click Save.
  7. To activate these changes, in the Change Center of the Administration Console, click Activate Changes.
Not all changes take effect immediately—some require a restart (see Use the Change Center).
