Manage security for EJBs and Web applications

The Advanced security model is one of the security models that you can choose when you deploy EJB or Web application resources. (See Choose a Security model). This model is compatible with the realm-level configuration used in WebLogic Server release 8.1. It allows you to load security data from deployment descriptors on an initial deployment and use the Administration Console to secure resources on subsequent deployments. For more information, see Using the Advanced Model

The tasks described below apply only if you are using the Advanced security model, and only if you are using the combined technique to secure Web applications and EJBs. See Using the Combined Technique

Follow step 1 or step2 to copy or reinitialize security data in deployment descriptors:

  1. To copy security information from deployment descriptors on an initial deployment and then use the Administration Console:
    1. Copy security configurations from deployment descriptors
    2. Revert the On Future Redeploys setting
  2. To reinitialize security from deployment descriptors on subsequent deployments and then use the Administration Console:
    1. Reinitialize security configurations in deployment descriptors
    2. Revert the On Future Redeploys setting
