Create queue security roles

A queue security role is used to secure a queue resource deployed within a security realm. For more information, see Securing WebLogic Resources.

Note: BEA recommends using initial capitalization, singular names for global roles; for example, SecurityEng.

To define a security role for a queue:

  1. In the Administration Console, navigate to the queue resource that you want to configure:
  2. Click Security: Roles to open the JMS Queue Roles page.
  3. Click New.
  4. In Name, specify a name for your new Role.
  5. Click Ok.
  6. To activate these changes, in the Change Center of the Administration Console, click Activate Changes.
Not all changes take effect immediately—some require a restart (see Use the Change Center).

After you finish

Now that you have named the role, see Configure queue security policies.
