Target a J2EE library to a server or cluster

When you install a J2EE library using the install assistant, you specify the servers and clusters to which the library is targeted. You can, however, change these targets after the library has been installed, as described in the following procedure.

  1. If you have not already done so, in the Change Center of the Administration Console, click Lock & Edit (see Use the Change Center).
  2. In the left pane of the Console, click Deployments. A table in the right pane displays the installed applications, modules and J2EE libraries. J2EE libraries are specified with the Library entry in the Type column.
  3. In the table, locate the J2EE library you want to re-target and click on its name.
  4. Click the Targets tab.
  5. In the Servers box, click the name of the servers (Administration and Managed) to which you want to target the J2EE library.

If you have clusters configured for your domain, a Clusters box will also appear on the page. In this box, click the clusters to which you want to target the library. For each cluster, you can choose to target the application to all servers in the cluster, or just to a selected few.

Be sure you target the J2EE library to each server and cluster to which modules and applications that use the library are deployed.

  6. Click Save.
  7. To activate these changes, in the Change Center of the Administration Console, click Activate Changes.
Not all changes take effect immediately—some require a restart (see Use the Change Center).
